Lightning Ridge is a homogenous precious opal formed during the Cretaceous period over 100 million years ago in the freshwater of the Eromanga Sea in Australia. Their unique dark body tone enhances the vibrant intensity of colour and diverse play of colour. Like all natural untreated Australian opals, they are durable, stable and unaffected by water.
